Breaking News: 2019 Chevy Silverado & GMC Sierra 3.0L Duramax Diesel Power, MPG, & Towing Specs

2019 Chevy Silverado & GMC Sierra 3.0L Duramax Diesel Power, MPG, and Towing Specs: Breaking News.

According to the source, the 3.0-liter Duramax engine available in the Sierra produces 282 horsepower and 450 lb-ft of torque. GM also seems to claim fuel economy of 28 mpg on the highway. However, no official figures are available from the EPA yet. The Duramax engine comes mated to GM’s 10-speed automatic transmission.

On the 2019 GMC Sierra, the 3.0-liter Duramax diesel appears as an engine option on SLE, Elevation, SLT, AT4 and Denali trims. The SLE and Elevation will get the new 2.7-liter four-cylinder engine as standard equipment, while the SLT, AT4 and Denali are currently available with a 5.3-liter V8.

According to the source, the 2019 GMC Sierra with the 3.0-liter Duramax will be capable of towing up to 7,800 pounds. As the 2019 Silverado has the same powertrains as the Sierra, we’d expect it to achieve similar figures.
